The licence portal

The Aedificon licence portal on the web — your licence and credits, your computers, upgrading and billing, your organisation and team, account settings and the trial page.

The licence portal is the Aedificon website where you manage everything about your A+ Tools licence that is not inside Revit: your plan and Free credits, the computers your licence runs on, upgrading and billing, and — for offices — the organisation, its members, seats and central repository. It lives at licensing.aedificon.ai and opens in your normal web browser.

Where A+ Tools › Licence portal in Revit, or https://licensing.aedificon.ai in any browser
You need Your Aedificon account (the one you sign in to A+ Tools with). A trial opens a trial page instead.
You can See your plan and credits, deactivate computers, upgrade, manage billing, run your organisation, export or delete your account
Credits (Free licence) The portal costs no credits — see Licensing and credits

Note — The portal is written in US English, so its pages say License where this help and the plugin say Licence. The labels below are quoted exactly as the portal shows them.

Opening the portal

From Revit (recommended) — choose A+ Tools › Licence portal. A+ Tools opens the portal already signed in with the account you use in Revit, so you are not asked for your password. The same happens when a message in A+ Tools offers a portal button — Upgrade, Manage devices, Renew, See plans or Open Licence portal: you land directly on the right page.

From a browser — go to https://licensing.aedificon.ai, or click Sign in in the top-right corner of www.aedificon.ai, and sign in with the same email address and password (or the same social login) you use in A+ Tools.

On a trial — you have no account, so Licence portal opens your trial page.

Tip — The automatic sign-in uses a one-time link that expires within a minute. If the browser shows the sign-in page instead, just sign in normally — for example when you were offline or clicked several portal buttons in quick succession.

Creating an account

You can create your Aedificon account from A+ Tools (Create account in the A+ Tools Licence window — see Getting started) or on the website with Get started. Either way:

  1. Fill in your email address and a password (or use a social login).
  2. Open the verification email from Aedificon and click the link.
  3. If the portal shows a page asking you to verify your email address, click Refresh after verifying.

A new account gets a Free licence automatically — no credit card needed.

Tip — Invited to an office's organisation? Sign up with the email address the invitation was sent to, using the link in the invitation email. See Joining an organisation.

Finding your way around

When you are signed in, your initials appear in a circle in the top-right corner. Click them to open the portal menu. The items depend on your plan and role:

Your licence (License)

The License page is where the portal opens. It shows the kind of account you have (Free, Pro, organisation member…) and a summary of your own licence: the plan, its status and renewal or expiry date.

On a Free account the page also shows Credits — how many of your 100 monthly credits you have used. This is the live figure; About A+ in Revit shows the balance from the last check.

The License page of a Free account with the Credits section The License page on a Free account.

Note — If you belong to an organisation, the License page shows only the seat assigned to you. Licence administrators manage all the organisation's licences on the Licenses page — see Licenses and seats.

How Free works

A Free account is free forever, but each run of a drawing tool costs credits: 30 credits per day and 100 per month, with the daily credits returning at your local midnight and the monthly credits on the day of the month you created your account. A complete drawing package costs 15 credits, a panel division or re-dimension 5. Free runs on one computer, needs an internet connection every time, and does not include Multiple mode or Transfer Settings. The details are in Licensing and credits.

Devices

The Devices page lists every computer that uses your licence (Assigned Devices): the computer name, the Autodesk account used on it and which licence it uses (License). Use the filter box to find a computer by name or Autodesk user.

The Devices page with two computers and their Deactivate buttons The Devices page.

Freeing a computer's place

  1. Open Devices (or click Manage devices in the A+ Tools message Device limit reached — it opens this page).
  2. Find the computer you no longer use and deactivate it.
  3. In Revit on the new computer, run the command again — it registers itself in the freed place.

How many computers you can use depends on your plan: Trial and Free plans can only run on one machine at a time; Pro uses up to two. If you replace computers often, the licence can be put on hold for a while (a cooldown) before another computer can be added.

Tip — Computers show with their Windows computer name. A computer listed as Unnamed device was registered without one.

Upgrading and plans

The plans and prices page (Upgrade or Add license in the menu, or Upgrade in A+ Tools) has two tabs:

  • Individual — Free and Pro.
  • Team & Enterprise — seat packs for offices (Single, 5-User, 10-User and 50-User) and the one-time Perpetual licence.

A switch chooses monthly or annual billing (annual is cheaper per month). Prices are in euros excluding VAT; VAT is added at checkout.

Upgrading from Free to Pro

  1. Open the plans page and choose monthly or annual.
  2. On the Pro card, click the subscribe button. A secure checkout opens on the page, run by Aedificon's payment partner Paddle, with your email address already filled in.
  3. Enter your payment details and confirm.
  4. You return to the License page, which shows that your subscription is being activated and refreshes by itself. After about a minute it confirms the upgrade. (If it takes longer, check back later — the confirmation email arrives either way.)
  5. In Revit, run any command — A+ Tools picks up the new plan by itself. Restart Revit if About A+ still shows Free.

Your licence is upgraded in place: the computer you already use stays registered and keeps working without signing in again.

Changing or adding plans

  • Pro users cannot buy a second personal plan. To switch between monthly and annual, or to move to a team plan, use Send inquiry to switch on the plan you want: the portal shows your current and new plan and sends the request to Aedificon, who make the change and confirm by email. An upgrade is active as soon as you get the confirmation email; a downgrade takes effect after the next billing cycle.
  • Organisations add seats or licences with Add license. Only organisation administrators and licence administrators can buy; other members see the buttons disabled.
  • Buying a team plan creates an organisation with you as its administrator. If you had a Free or Pro licence, it becomes the organisation's licence and your computer keeps working.

Billing

The Billing page lists your subscriptions — plan (for example Pro (Annual)), status and Subscription ID — and has the Open payment portal button. It takes you, already signed in, to the payment portal of Aedificon's payment partner Paddle, where you can:

  • update your card or payment method,
  • see and download your invoices and receipts,
  • manage or cancel your subscription.

Payments, invoices and card statements show Paddle's name, because Paddle sells the subscription on Aedificon's behalf.

The Billing page with the subscriptions table and the Open payment portal button The Billing page.

If a payment fails, your licence keeps working for a 7-day grace period while the payment is retried, and you get an email. Update your payment details in the payment portal. If the payment does not go through, the licence expires and A+ Tools shows Licence expired with a Renew button that opens this page.

Organisation and team

Team & Enterprise and Perpetual licences belong to an organisation. The organisation holds a pool of seats; administrators give seats to members, and each member signs in to A+ Tools with their own account.

Roles

Role Can do
Member Use the seat assigned to them; see the organisation's name and contact person.
License admin Buy seats and licences, assign and revoke seats, invite people to a seat, see and deactivate members' computers.
Repository admin Set the organisation's central repository — in the portal or in A+ Tools (Plugin settings).
Admin Everything above, plus the organisation's settings (name, contact person, domain auto-join) and giving or removing roles. The organisation always has at least one admin; the account that pays for the plan can never be removed.

In A+ Tools, About A+ › Roles shows your role — see Roles in an organisation.

The Organisation page

Members see the organisation's name, the internal contact person to ask about A+ Tools, and their own membership.

Admins also see:

  • the settings card — organisation name, contact person and domain auto-join (people who sign up with your company's email domain join automatically, if you switch it on),
  • Administrator roles — three lists (Admins, License admins, Repository admins), each with a member picker to add someone and Remove next to each name,
  • the member list, where you can assign a seat or remove a member,
  • the invite form.

The Organisation page as seen by an admin, with the settings card, Administrator roles and the member list The Organisation page for an organisation admin.

Inviting people

  1. On the Organisation page, enter the person's email address in the invite form and choose their role.
  2. To give them a seat straight away, tick the invite-to-seat option.
  3. Send the invitation. The person receives an email with a link that is valid for 14 days.

Joining an organisation (for the person invited)

  1. Click the link in the invitation email.
  2. Sign up (or sign in) with the email address the invitation was sent to — the invitation only works for that address.
  3. The portal confirms that you have joined. If a seat came with the invitation, A+ Tools uses it the next time it checks your licence.

Note — Organisations cannot be joined with a code; it is always by invitation, or automatically through domain auto-join if the admins have switched it on.

Licenses and seats (licence administrators)

The Licenses page shows everything the organisation owns:

  • Subscriptions — the seat packs, with their renewal dates.
  • Perpetual licences, grouped by Revit version.
  • Assigned seats — who holds each seat, with Revoke to take a seat back and the member's computers, which you can deactivate.
  • Invite to a seat — invite someone by email and give them a seat when they accept.

The Licenses page with subscriptions, assigned seats and the Invite to a seat card The Licenses page for licence administrators.

Note — A member whose seat is revoked sees No active licence in A+ Tools the next time they run a command.

Central repository

The Central Repository page sets where the organisation's shared settings repository — a Revit template file (.rte) on a network drive — is stored. There is one path per Revit year (for example one for Revit 2026 and one for Revit 2027), because a template saved in a newer Revit cannot be opened in an older one. A+ Tools receives the path for its Revit year automatically when it checks the licence, so every member uses the same repository.

The Central Repository page with one path field per Revit year The Central Repository page.

Tip — Use a path every member can reach, for example a UNC path such as \\server\Standards\A+ Revit 2026.rte rather than a mapped drive letter. Repository admins can also set the path from Revit in A+ Tools › Plugin settings — see The A+ Tools menu.

How the central repository is used is explained in Settings profiles and repositories.

Account settings

The Account page shows your profile:

  • Display name — the name shown in the portal and in A+ Tools (edit and save).
  • Connected Autodesk account — the Autodesk user that A+ Tools reported when you first used it.

From the Account page you can also:

  • Export your data — download a copy of the personal data Aedificon holds about you.
  • Delete your account — see below.

Deleting your account

  1. On the Account page, choose to delete your account.
  2. Type your email address to confirm, and confirm.

Deleting your account removes your licence and registered computers, cancels any personal subscription immediately, and anonymises your account. You are signed out and the email address becomes free for a completely new account later. A+ Tools on your computers stops working until someone signs in with another account.

Important — If you pay for an organisation's subscriptions, the portal cannot delete your account — contact Aedificon support to hand the organisation over first.

The trial page

On the 14-day trial you have no account, so A+ Tools › Licence portal opens a special trial page instead. It shows when your trial ends, how many trial credits you have left, and the options to create a free account or buy a plan. The page can only be opened from A+ Tools.

The trial status page with the trial end date and remaining credits The trial page.

Tip — Creating an account during the trial is the smooth way to continue: sign in to A+ Tools on the same computer and the trial ends while your new Free account takes over.

The email verification page

If you sign in before confirming your email address, the portal shows a page asking you to verify it. Click the link in the verification email, then click Refresh on the page — the portal signs you in and continues where you were going.

Tips

Tip — Always open the portal from A+ Tools › Licence portal: you land signed in with the right account, even if your browser is signed in to the portal with someone else's.

Tip — Changed something in the portal (freed a computer, renewed, got a seat)? Run the command in Revit again — A+ Tools checks the licence again before showing any block, so no restart is needed.

Tip — Sharing a computer? Sign out of the portal (Sign out in the menu) as well as out of A+ Tools (Log out) — they are separate.

Tip — Organisation admins: give at least two people the Admin role so the organisation is never stuck when someone is away.
